LIBRARY GUIDES
There are a number of useful guides available from the library website. If you cannot find the guide you need, please contact Joshua Boatright, Heather Dodge, or Jenny Yap and the library will endeavor to create the information tool(s) request.
PLEASE INFORM YOUR STUDENTS ABOUT:
GETTING THEIR STUDENT I.D.S: Please remind your students to get their student I.D.s with current enrollment stickers. Peralta College Identification Cards are library cards and are necessary to use computers in or borrow material from the BCC library. With a current I.D. students have borrowing privileges to all four Peralta District college libraries.
RESERVE ITEMS: If you have items on reserve for your class, please remind your students that they need a current student I.D. to check out items on reserve, and the title of the item they wish to check out [only one reserve item may be checked out at a time (with the exception of accompanying answer books)]. Books and readers are currently shelved by title. If the student does not know the title of the reserve item they need it will be hard if not impossible for the library to identify and find the sought for item.
PHOTOCOPYING: There are currently two photocopiers in the library. Photocopies are $0.10.
UCB LIBRARY ACCESS FOR STUDENTS: Currently enrolled California Community College students who need the UC Berkeley collections for research may purchase a six-month library card by presenting to the Library Privileges Desk a current student registration card showing an expiration date or a copy of their current class schedule. The fee is $25.
BERKELEY PUBLIC LIBRARY: All one needs to be is a California resident to obtain a Berkeley Public Library card, and the library offers a number of great services including access to print and digital books, other media materials, databases, and link +. Representatives from the Berkeley Public Library will also be outside the library issuing cards the first Wednesday of every month during college hour!
