The primary Election ballot will include candidates for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, Member of State Board of Equalization, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, U.S. Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Assembly Member, as well as other local candidates.
There are two contests for U.S. Senate on this ballot. One for a 6-year term ending 1/3/ 2029; and the other serving for the remainder of the current term ending 1/3/2023.
To vote in the November 8, 2022 election you must meet these requirements:
Complete paper registration forms must be postmarked by 15 days prior to the election date.

Each election the League of Women Voters of California carefully studies the ballot measures at stake for the current election. Voter recommendations are made. These recommendations are formed from grassroots member study and consenus.

For each election the Alameda County Registrar of Voters hires hundreds of temporary workers. Many work only the day of the election as a poll worker. Some of these paid positions are specifically for students. Workers need to attend half day training prior to the election. Poll workers can earn up to $205 working just election day, and have the opportunity to learn first hand how elections work.
